Established in 1934, the British Council has been in Nigeria since 1943. The focus of the British Council in Nigeria is on capacity building and sustainability in designing, developing and delivering programmes aimed at delivering change at scale. The Council thanks social entrepreneur Grace Ihejiamaizu, a Global Changemaker listed as the 16th most influential young Nigerian in 2018. Grace Ihejiamaizu was one of 60 young people selected from more than 2000 applications to attend the British Council 2012 Global Changemakers Event. British Council is inviting past programme participants to celebrate its 75th anniversary with them by submitting stories of their experience and the impact it has had.
